About Austin Roofs

Austin Roofs is a new, independent roofing guide and referral service for Travis, Williamson and Hays counties. Austin Roofs is a referral service, not a roofing contractor. Your inspection and estimate come from our partner roofer, an independent contractor that we checked against a published standard. We publish the information homeowners need and roofers rarely volunteer.

We are new, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. There is no decades-old logo and no wall of reviews. What there is: a clear way of working, written down so you can hold us to it.

Who

[Owner name], founder. [Two or three sentences about the owner, written once the entity and role are settled.]

our partner roofer is an independent Texas roofing contractor. Our partner roofer is checked against the standard on this page before we send a single request. The partner, not Austin Roofs, performs every inspection, writes every estimate, does the work and holds the workmanship warranty.

How this works

  1. You request an estimate.
  2. We pass it to our partner roofer. One contractor, not a bidding list.
  3. The partner inspects and quotes in writing, with photos.
  4. You decide. No obligation. The report is yours to take to anyone.

The partner roofer pays us a referral fee on completed jobs. You never pay us, and the fee doesn’t change your price. The full vetting checklist and how to opt out of contact are on the how it works page.

What we publish

  • The Austin Hail Map: every NWS hail report in the three counties since 2014 (790 reports on 145 storm days) with NOAA radar overlays. Roofers buy maps like this to pick neighborhoods to canvass. Ours is free so you can check your own address.
  • The insurance-claim rules: what a Texas roofer can and cannot do, the insurer’s deadlines, the deductible law, your 3-day cancel right.
  • Corrections to claims that are wrong for Texas: the “25% rule” (Florida law), “licensed roofer” (Texas has no state roofing license; HB 3344 to create one died in 2025), “you can cancel if the claim is denied” (no such Texas right), and the “30-year shingle” (12 to 18 years in Austin heat). [VERIFY]

What we will never do

  • Promote a deductible deal. Paying, waiving or rebating a deductible is a Class B misdemeanor in Texas (Business & Commerce Code §27.02). The partner standard requires compliance, and we drop any partner who breaks it.
  • “Handle your claim.” Texas Insurance Code §4102.163 bars a roofer from adjusting a claim on a roof it works on. Neither we nor the partner negotiates claims.
  • Sell your request to a list. Your information goes to one contractor, our partner roofer, and nobody else.
  • Call anyone “licensed.” Texas has no roofing license to hold.
  • Post reviews we did not earn. When real ones exist, they will appear.

Where

Travis, Williamson and Hays counties: Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Leander, Georgetown, Pflugerville, Hutto, Lakeway, Kyle, Buda, San Marcos and Dripping Springs. We have no storefront.

FAQ

Is Austin Roofs a roofing company?

No. We are a guide and referral service. our partner roofer, an independent contractor, performs the inspection, writes the estimate, does the work and holds the warranty.

Is the partner roofer licensed?

Texas has no state roofing license to hold. HB 3344 (2025), which would have created one, died in committee. What we check instead is on the how it works page: entity status, insurance certificates, city registration, written warranty, and enforcement history. Our partner roofer is checked against the standard on this page before we send a single request.

How long have you been in business?

We are new. We started in 2026, which means no track record to point to yet. The standard on this page is how we intend to earn one. Judge us on the hail map, the explainers, and the written scope the partner hands you.

How do you make money?

The partner roofer pays us a referral fee on completed jobs. You never pay us, and the fee doesn’t change your price.
